Outdoorzy has a lot of the typical social network functionality; friends, who's online, personal messaging, comments, profile pictures, personal stats, etc. But what sets them apart, is that they give their members a free rein in sharing their adventures. There are Trip Reports in which members can write about the adventures they've had and post pictures. There are also Gear Reviews which allow members to compose reviews of their favorite/least favorite gear.

There is a useful section called Gear Lists, which newbie’s can use to make sure they have the right gear for their particular expedition. These lists are contributions from members which they use when they go on backpacking, fishing, snowboarding trips, etc.
