| Intel factories in the state of Israel - An update |
| Tuesday, May 15, 2007 |
|
|
|
|
Some background
20 years ago Intel set up their first factory in Jerusalem, they got
the best engineers in the world and hundreds of millions in help from
the government. They actually liked it so they set another factory in
the south of Israel and again squeezed the government; few years later
came the 3rd factory also with the government massive support. These
amounts could have helped the whole Israeli hi-tech industry, an
Industry that leads the local economy and suffers from lack of
government support (no wonder when so much money goes to Intel). |

Steve Jobs probably loves his iPod
no less than a Mother
loves her child. He, over time, has definitely understood that the
restriction on music encourages users to obtain unrestricted music
which is usually not possible via legal methods and thus possible the
other way round. It’s just the
same as when a Mom scolds her child for not to have a candy, and that’s
probably the first thing which the child would do; have it!Steve had
launched iPods keeping in mind to provide the ease of music to the
consumer's ears, wherever and whenever. In regard to which it is good
to recall
that iPods play music which is free of DRM and is merely encoded in
"open" licensable formats such as MP3 or even say AAC. Users can get
the music from anywhere which is encoded into these open formats without any
DRM. The music could be played on any player which supports these formats.

| What is Microsoft up to ? |

|
| Is there really an Internet company that worth $50 billion? Rumors insist that Microsoft will offer
to purchase Yahoo for $50 billion. Can these rumors be true?
Theoretically such step will put MS in direct competition with the
Google and will compensate for the years MS lost on the web.
Practically it's a ridiculous sum and no company worth it. If indeed
MS will purchase Yahoo for this amount then it's the beginning of the
end of Microsoft. Not only that the amount is far too high, the game
itself is not their game. I doubt that anyone over there is stupid
enough to risk the company future just to compete with Google. They
should wait a year to see the damages that the recent purchases
caused Google and others (MySpace and YouTube). On the other hand the rumors
may have added a single zero while passing from mouth to ear. |

Mashups! Take somebody else’s functionality and use it for a niche
usage scenario. Sounds like a smart idea. This makes a lot of sense as
many a time some really smart applications have been created but the
full functionality is never utilized. That’s where a mashup uses
ingenuity to devise a clever use of the application. Though many
revolve around using google maps or other web maps, there remains a
vast range of applications that can be tapped into for the next killer
mashup. Have any ideas? Take a chance on NEO Binaries forums.
