Statistics shows that only 0.16% of the video sharing websites are actually contributing videos of their own. The same with Video blogs. Why is it? Within all this celebration around the video sharing sites nobody bother to check this until now. Yes of course you can find plenty of stuff on MySpace and YouTube, but the fact is that most of it is copyrighted material (complete, or parts cuts out of full videos).
A month ago when I opened the PMBCom business community I released a software that will make it easy technically for user to create convert and upload videos. But I did it as a commercial step because I know very well how complicated it technically to create a video. Video blog is a simple example; its a real pain in the backside. First you have to write a text. then you have to record it and believe me you will never be satisfied then after fighting with the text you will figure out that it must be recorded in small parts. After 5 hours you'll comes up with plenty of 5-10 seconds parts which you will hate, but despite all you will open a video editor and put them together, not before you will have to gather sound files extracted frozen pictures and plenty of elements to tie up this clumsily built puzzle. And when its done, it will be horrible, and you will realize you spent the whole day building up 1 minute of lousy piece you could write down in 5 minutes. You want to try ? Fine with me but don't complain later. Go to the PMBcom system link (above) download the software (don't worry its free), of course i will be delighted if you will join in but you don't have to. Use your webcam with the bundled software. Once you are done if you are still alive you can check how it looks like and create your own player using the code generator at the Videowebgate Code generator.
My only attempt to create a video blog is available on YouTube or Metacafe, and the only reason i kept it there is to remind myself how stupid i looked. As a technical expert I spent creating it "only" 4 hours, and most people that have seen it spent the same amount of time laughing.
