I know I'm starting off the most dreaded thread on a board. I know that this usually results in an all-out war on the forum.
But I still must go out on a limb and ask:
Which Web Browser(s) do you use? Tell us why.
Post a screenshot of your browser customization (if you've done any and you want to show off).
-Dhiraj.

I'll go first.
I use Firefox. I must. It has become my unquestionable choice because of the following:
1. Live Bookmarks! 2. Cross platform browser feel retention. (Available on all OSes) 3. Complete profile backup is simple. (Copy mozilla folder in Application data) 4. Tabbed browsing with a vengence! (Tab Mix Plus, Tabswitcher for keyboard switching ). 5. Fastest rendering on the planet (Fasterfox) 6. Integrated segmented downloader (DownThemAll) 7. Better support from Google. (toolbar, comments plugin) 8. Safe. No weird security glitches that require weekly (daily?) updates to fix. 9. Automatic updates. 10. One word: Greasemonkey! 11. I just had to add this: Type-in Jump filtering in History sidebar.

Hi,
yea, right now i use Avant browser (the latest version) . . . and i haven't experienced any problems per say. I like the interface - it's clean and uncluttered. I hate IE for obvious reasons. I alternatively use Firefox. Maybe, just maybe, with the latest version, i might make it my default browser.
Have to still check it out. . . But Dhiraj, let me know something . . . any updates in IE could also affect Avant, right?? Since they both have the same engine. .. |

Hi Rajshri!!!
Why may i ask, are you calling Dhiraj "sir"??? I mean you can do that if you want to, but this isn't a classroom . . . we are all EQUAL (not artificial sugar!) . . . So, relax!! Talk about tech stuff, Web2.0Stuff, and the like without getting too formal, ok?
And if u still wanna call him "Sir". . . u gotta do the same for me as well!!! |

Exactly!!
The problem with using Internet Explorer as a backend engine is that you don't end up solving the basic problem, itself, Internet Explorer. The security updates that Microsoft keeps sending over the automatic Windows Update channel can possibly break any browser depending on the IE engine, every time.
Some time back Microsoft came out with a fix that would solve "security" problems with DHTML drag-and-drop. While this did fix the so called security problem, it broke the functionality of every browser that handled left-click drag and drop. Namely, Maxthon's "Super Drag-and-drop". The Maxthon site even went out and posted two solutions for the problem, one of which were to completely disable the security check, which, to seems to me to be counterproductive to the idea of the update in the first place.
Not to say that Internet Explorer is a complete nuisance of course. For that final check in all web development, web sites must pass that "looks-and-works-perfectly-in-IE" check. The browser adoption is so high (some say 80 plus %) for IE that not supporting it is pointless!
So the answer to your question? Yes, any updates in IE will, in all probability, also affect Avant. Scared of that recent ActiveX security update from Microsoft, are we?
Such is life.
-Dhiraj.

Hi Web2.0junkie, u r right, i shud call him by his name. I tried but i couldn't. I feel life itself is a classroom. Everyday it teaches u some good or bad lesson(depends on u how u take it).
Your name is so long to type, it would be better to refer u by "sir" only.
Regarding Neo binaries, i think this site really is a good one developed by cynapse. I request, this site not only give information about different application but should also give tutorials of different application.
Like now i have one query that how to make a presentation in powerpoint. Can u teach me? |

Hello Rajshri
You can also use Thumbstacks to make a presentation. Thumbstacks is a site that helps you make and share presentations online. You can get started with this. Their presentation builder is pretty easy to use. Read more about the application here on NEO Binaries: http://www.neobinaries.com/apps/Thumbstacks.aspx
Try it out and let the community know what you think of Thumbstacks.
Thanks for all your comments and inputs, keep them coming; it helps us improve!
